I was educated at the Farnham School of Art and Central School, London and have a Postgraduate Diploma in Cartography and GIS. My MA is in Design for Digital Media – an animated 'Blind Watchmaker' I earned my living as a textile designer for some time with a scarf collection and working with Bill Gibb and Courtaulds in particular. I then became an architectural watercolour painter with several successful one man exhibitions in London at the Christopher Wood Gallery.

I discovered a skill and enthusiasm for flowers and, as can be seen at the Bridgeman Library site, and did many through Stephanie Hoppen. At the same time I illustrated many books – notably the Festive Foods series and the Jennifer Aldridge Cook Book and many other books which I found very rewarding to work on. This was before photography had taken over big time and there was still a place for watercolour paintings.

I've been commissioned in the past by Waitrose to complete artwork on some of their product range as well as various commissions for books.

I have always been fascinated by rocks, their formations in particular, as I have learned more about Geology. I am continually looking for other information as well as the obvious pictorial. It's the rocks, and their shapes, that interests me, together with the colours and the history, expressing the seemingly permanant coupled with erosion. I’m hugely interested in the natural world but realise the strength of photography in some cases; I hope to be explaining other factors, probably by exclusion and simplification, but there is also the image making factor in all this, the painting and if it works....

My move to the World Heritage Site, The Jurassic Coast, was a revelation to me. Now I add another revelation in the rocks South Western USA. I hope you enjoy the images and please contact me if you have any enquiries regarding my work.
